Dealer service contract just expired – worth renewing or go prepaid elsewhere?
Cita de bendawkins en mayo 16, 2026, 8:18 amMy 2019 BMW 740i just finished its 3 year dealer service contract and now they're offering a renewal for another two years at around 3800 dirhams per year which covers oil changes, filters, plugs, and brake fluid but nothing else. I'm trying to figure out if that's actually a good deal or if I'd be better off paying as I go at a good independent shop. A few people I know have switched to a proper BMW Service Package Center Dubai that offers similar prepaid plans but at lower rates and they even include things like alignment and AC check which the dealer doesn't. Has anyone here gone the independent service contract route and found it to be reliable? I'm mainly worried about resale value because a dealer service history is nice but if the independent place uses genuine parts and stamps the book, maybe it doesn't matter. Just trying to avoid surprises because last time I paid out of pocket for a single oil service at the dealer it was over 1200 which seems insane. Curious what others are doing after their factory plans run out.
