Has anyone else had a terrible experience with insurance roadside assistance taking forever to arrive?

I was leaving a shopping mall in Abu Dhabi around 8pm and when I got to my car it wouldn't start at all. No clicking, no lights, just completely dead like someone had removed the battery overnight. I thought no problem, I pay extra every year for comprehensive insurance that includes roadside assistance so I'll just call them and someone will be here soon. Well I called the number and after going through about five automated menus I finally reached a human who took my details and said a technician would be there within sixty to ninety minutes. I thought okay that's a bit long but I can wait. Two hours passed and nobody showed up so I called again. This time they told me the driver was on another call and I was next in line but they couldn't give me an updated time estimate. Another hour went by and I was getting really frustrated because I had groceries in the back that were starting to thaw and my phone battery was down to twenty percent. I started searching online for alternative options because clearly my insurance wasn't going to help me anytime soon. I found a website and decided to read more about their towing services because they claimed to have fast response times even during peak hours. I gave them a call and the dispatcher was actually polite and helpful which was already a huge improvement over my insurance company. He said someone could be there in about forty minutes and I honestly didn't believe him at that point because I had already been waiting for three hours. But to my shock a tow truck showed up in thirty five minutes and the driver had my car loaded up in less than ten minutes. He even dropped me and the car at a garage near my apartment. My insurance roadside assistance finally called me back four and a half hours after my initial call to ask if I still needed help. I couldn't believe it. Has anyone else experienced such terrible wait times with their insurance or did I just get unlucky? Also do you have a backup plan for when insurance fails because I definitely need one after yesterday. Thanks for letting me rant and for any advice.
