Taxi driver told me my battery will die in a year no matter what, is that true?
Cita de dayanlee en noviembre 3, 2026, 5:56 amYesterday I was waiting at a petrol station and got talking to an old taxi driver who had a bonnet full of cables and a very confident opinion. He said any battery in this country dies in about a year no matter what you do, and that anyone telling you different is selling something. I did not argue, but it stayed in my head all night. I drive a 2018 Kia Cerato, my battery is about a year old, and I do not want to replace it every summer if there is something I can do about it. My brother says the driver is right and that heat just kills them, so there is no point trying. My neighbor says that is lazy thinking, and that things like clean terminals, a weekly longer drive and parking in shade can add a lot of months. A friend at work told me to also check that the car is not charging too high or too low, because a weak alternator can finish a good battery very fast. Another guy said to switch off the AC and the screen before turning off the engine, so the next start is not harder than it needs to be. I read a page on amaroncarbattery.ae to see what actually helps, and it talked about heat, regular checks, short trips and keeping the connections tight and clean, which sounded more useful than just giving up. So I am trying to find Reliable methods to increase Amaron battery life, and I would like to hear from drivers who really got more than two summers out of one. My questions are easy. How many years did your longest lasting battery survive here, and what did you do differently? Is it worth asking the shop for a charging system test every time I visit? Do you cover or shade the battery area, or is that just marketing? And does a small maintainer at home really help if I park in an open lot? Please share your own numbers. Thanks for reading.
